A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR RESTAURANT

Our history is largely behind that. Sam’s Pizza restaurant began small. Today though, we are one of the largest restaurants in Iowa City serving a variety of dishes, sandwiches being one of them. Sam’s Pizza began when the owner, Terry French, bought it in 1991 and later moved the business further north to Gilbert St, Iowa City. Before then, Terry had a dream of preparing and distributing what he believed to be sweet and savory sandwiches in Iowa City. With hard work, dedication, and focus on quality, his dream came true. Even though the restaurant began small, only managing to do a handful of sandwich sales in Iowa City, such is not the case as of today. A focus on quality, affordability, and a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from has transformed our restaurant into the biggest sandwich franchise in Iowa City and its surroundings. As of now, Pizza is Iowa’s most preferred sandwich choice for many residents of the city.
